I have 2 Broody hens right now, one sitting on 6 eggs, the other on 8!!!

I don't know when the first hen is due she was hiding but the second batch is due the 23!!!

my cochin girl is still sitting, 1 i can see veins, the other two are EE's, and too thick to get any idea of what is going on in them, at day 14 now. And i picked up some serama hens today, a friend bought a flock from someone, 2 roos, 14 hens, well last week some of them decided to go broody, and gathered all the eggs to sit on them.... this morning she went in and 7 were sitting on eggs....

so when i went to pick my girls up(she gave me some of the eggs), these two were in the broody group- will try candling tomorow and try to get a feel for when to expect a hatch, i am in the dark on this one..
love the coloring on the one in the back, she also has a bit of a temper- nobody touch those eggs!LOL!

Well fellow chicken-lovers---- I have another little peeper this morning!! It's crazy that during a 17degree night, with wind and snow flurries, baby chicks can hatch! Gotta love a broody hen! My little silkie is such a good mama.

she has 2 eggs left but they won't hatch till the weekend. I probably shouldn't have put them under her but my sister gave me some blue eggs and I just wanted to hatch a couple! She's still siting tight, and the babies have access to their own food and water. I hope she stays on those eggs!
