Probably Arial attack from a hawk or eagle...

oh no~!, what happened?!, is everyone ok?!, i have no bird predetors apart from crown which are a danger to the chicks but that hen will not be scared of a crow!!, my ex batt babs was fighting a crow and roke the poor things wing...

One hen was broody for 2 weeks before we could get her eggs. She lasted until day 19 when I came home to cold eggs. Gave the eggs (candled and threw out 2 eggs) to the broody #2 who took to them like bees to honey. Broody #1 apparently still wanted to be broody so both are hatching eggs. 4 have hatched but I could not prevent 1 from getting in with the other chickens so one died. Three dry babies that I know of. They were dry when I saw them for the first time. One with furry legs!
