Old fashioned Broody thread for ducks 2013 edition

It was in the 90's today.
First time I've seen her do that and we've had a few days over 90.
She's got plenty of water.
I suppose she was just hot.
Well what ever the reason, she sure is a cutie and I am enjoying watching her. Thanks for sharing this part of her life and looking forward to hatch day

I agree, she may be hot and panting. You might give her a little water dish nearby. Usually I give the broody moms the very same waterer that I give to their babies!

Here was this am here:
The little ones are 2-3 Days old. Today was their 1st day out. The bigger two are 2 Weeks old. Look at their poor mom, doesn't she look rough?

I bet once she gets the kids raised she'll be looking better HDF, what a sweet pic though of mamas and babies. Do the girls mind being so close together with their babies?

HOW SWEET!!!!

I have a chick feeder and water dish.
I'll get them today and put closer to her.

I think having mom used to the food & water is good, like it helps her teach the babies to use them quicker.

The moms are ok together, but one of the Rouen x KC 2-wk olds is rather a pain... I know I've written before that there's no such thing as an aggressive duckling, but this particular one I have seen go after the little ones 2x now. Luckily Khaki Mom is experienced and she keeps watch. Plus I try to also! :)
