Old fashioned Broody thread for ducks 2013 edition

Thanks!! I feel like a judge, trying to decide which duck is going to get what property in the separation

(Daffy gets big pool, and small shelter, Daisy gets duck house, small water bin. Yes, I know, very unique names!!)

LMAO Bonnie got the garage, the bigger pool, and the backyard.

Clydesdale got the chicken coop, the run, & the small concrete mixer tub

Just the way it should be and the ladies get the kids but dad still has to pay child support.

We tried giving him conjugal visits but last time she bit him then stomped & chirped away.

So for right now his conjugal visits have been suspended until further notice.

So I finally decided to mess with the eggs one of my girls is sitting on. I picked it up, put it to my ear, and the most ADORABLE sounds were in there. It's like clicking... I'm assuming its the internap pipping. Dave, my husband, says it sounds like, "a baby duck hitting its bill on the inside of the egg." Haa haa.... I do love him.

:) They're almost here!!!

A coon ripped 2 of our silkies out of the duck coop this morning. I just got back from coon proofing both coops. The mosquitos are out thick Mr muscovy is about to get fired for not depleting the mosquito population.

Mama ducks doing ok im a lil worried shes not eating much but then again shes not active. I havent checked the eggs shes bit me twice today.

I went out for a "beak count"...I don't know for sure when she started sitting, so I don't know when to expect babies, so I've been going out to check. Mama has moved her nest a bit...I posted a pic earlier where she was right at the entrance to her house, she's shifted back so she's more in the middle of the house. She seemed really calm, she wasn't hissing at me, of course I may have woken her up. I just really don't know what to expect, I just hope she's not sitting on a clutch of duds!!
