Florida is HOT! I grew up with chickens on our farm (Bush Cabin) in MD. Mom had a small flock - maybe a couple dozen. My memory says they were probably Rhode Island Reds. I raised chickens in northern AZ, both Cornish Rock Cross and mixed layers. I'm stuffed in a tiny condo in south Florida now, so no chickens. But my daughter nearby has a few mixed layers and wants to build a new chicken coop for maybe a couple dozen layers. I'm a former general contractor and she wants me to design it, so that's why I'm here.
Spoiler alert: Protection from critters and low cost are two of the biggest factors.
I've known about BYC for years. I probably first learned about you through homesteading and survival books and magazines. I'm happy to be a part of your flock! And may the Lord send a blessing to each one of you. "Gramma Lynne"
