Hi, I am a 74 yr old woman in the Texas Hill Country. I've had minimal experience with chickens, having had a few chickens off & on in the past. Ive tried several breeds, ie Rhode Island Reds, Americans, Buff Orphingtons & Bared Rocks. I have been down to 1 hen for about 6 months, and knowing I don't do will with baby chicks, I went to a feed store I've bought from in the past, and got 4 4-5 month old New Hampshire X's, all he had. I know nothing about this breed, at all. My Americana is adjusting to the new comers well. Any thing I should know?

It’s nice to meet you!

Being a new member myself i would like to welcome you. This place has been a wealth of knowledge and very informitable people. Good luck with your new comers
Thanks so much for words of encouragement. I already love taking them kitchen scraps & sitting around watching them. The Americana finally stopped chasing the new kids around the pen. More later.
