older chicks/pullets going outside

I put my chicks outside today in a large cage until my coop is done this weekend, it's 60 out now and will drop to 34 tonight is it safe to leave them outside at 5 weeks old and pretty much fully feathered?

With the cage not being closed in, I would worry about it getting too drafty. Even more so, I would worry about a cat/raccoon/opossum reaching in and wringing their little necks.

If one of them should decide to roost/sleep next to one of the uncovered sides, a raccoon could easily rip it right through the bars.

SnuggleSafe disc is a hard plastic disc filled with some kind of gel that you heat up in your microwave for 5-6 minutes and it heats up. The heat lasts about 6 hours or so outside and longer if it is used inside. Kind of like a fancy hot water bottle

Can get it through Amazon and possibly at Petsmart.
