Older now, can you tell the breed?

Hope not, it came from the pullet bin and was banded! That would make the choice easier. We arent keeping roos!

It is the picture. I went and looked close. It is waddles coming up but they are yellowish whitish. No pink.

I agree Jersey Giant is also a possibility on those 2. Coming from the pullet bin is no guarantee. People put chicks back into the wrong bins all the time at the feed stores and vent sexing at the hatcheries is only 90% accurate so sometimes you still wind up with a roo. I'm glad that doesn't look like the case with yours

I think that the b/w one is an ancona, I got one in the surprise special from Ideal and it looked just like that, and If the black ones are minorcas, be prepared for eggs!!!!! I ordered 25 of the surprise special last july, and I get 20-24 eggs a day!!

That is what we want! We get 2 eggs from our 2 girls that lay now. Almost every day. Every once in a while they will skip a day, but it is pretty rare! (They are an Olive egger and a dark cornish

Here are my guesses...
1. brown Leghorn
2. Sex link or production red
3. Ancona or exchequer Leghorn
4. EE
5 and 6. I think one is a black Jersey Giant and the other is a black Austrlorp. The feet in the pictures appear to be different colors. The one with the yellow would be the JG while the more flesh tone would be the Austrlorp.

Cuties one and all and they should provide you with a lovely mixed basket of eggs.

You guys were all mostly right one! They were all pullets

1 is a brown leghorn:

2 is a New Hampshire (at least that is what I have been told)

3 is a Ancona

4 is a EE

We only kept the small one of the 5 and 6 pictures, but she turned out to be a bsl
