Older silkies

These are my two older silkies. No idea on age but was sold as hens and told they will lay when the weather warms (winter here). The white is currently in the middle of a molt and I'm not sure if I'm seeing streamers or just new longer fluff. Buff? looks pullet like but bigger wattles and comb

Well, pullet would be under one year old.

They do both look female... They aren't bearded though so it makes the waddles appear bigger than on other Silkies.

My grown ladies do have combs that size.

Laying isn't relative to temperature though... it is relative to daylight hours. Some people supplement lighting, I don't.

Agree with EggSighted. They look like grown hens and I see no male streamers.

agree - Are your silkies large fowl? In US we only have bantam sized. You may be interested in "Australia, six states and one funny little island." BYC has a large Aussie community spread out among over 300,000 members globally.

Thanks heaps! Glad their names can stay the same, thankfully my children gave the chicks I have unisex names just in case. I was thinking they meant they may lay as our daylight hours get longer rather than warmer.
drumstick diva I'm not 100% sure. the size difference is very noticeable so possibly bantam buff and larger white
