Oldest Chicken of 2017

i really am curious to see what some of the oldest chickens are here..

Seems like I have as many old chickens as I do young ones. They just get old too fast. Here are some of mine....

This is Charlie, a Buff Brama bantam, hatched in Feb, 2010. Almost 8 years old he's still a cocky little devil who loves to spar with the younger roosters... as long as they are on the opposite side of the fence!

This is Aussie, hatched in 2010, almost 8 years old. She is going downhill and probably won't survive the coming cold winter but she has always been a sweetheart.

This is Punkin, hatched in 2009, almost 9 years old. My granddaughter was 6 when Punkin was given to her as a birthday present. My grandaughter is now 15 as still wants to hold Punkin whenever she visits.

My oldest chicken Blackie is a 8 years 9 months and is also a Barred rock. Her buddy Blondie in pic passed away Monday... Hopefully she will buddy up to one of the youngsters. She's been looking bereft and hanging by herself .

..they don't live in the house but they do like to sneak in!

Sorry about Blondie, she was a cute hen. I don't have chickens but hope mine will live long when I get them whenever I move out of the city.

Peep is 11 years old has laid 11 eggs so far this spring!

I'm afraid Aussie died right before Christmas and her best friend Punkin died 2 days later. It was a hard winter here and I lost a lot of my favorite old chickens including Mack, who was Aussie's 5 year old son.
