Oldest hen is attacking rest of flock

Yep, they were in a coop and she would stand nearby them. The trouble was just with the larger breed wanting to assert herself. I’m gonna try making separate feeding areas, but she tends to seek out trouble :/

I didn't see what breeds they are. Lots of good advice here though. I have a lot of mellow breeds but some breeds like RIRs will be bossy. My one RIR actually kicked my old salmon faverolle boss chicken out of the flock when we were having predator problems so she got eaten by something before I realized what was going on.

Breed dynamics and compatibility are definitely something to keep in mind, yeah. But with "teenagers" upsetting the order, drama can happen even within the same breed. In my case, the older hen, the pullets, and the other hens that got caught in the crossfire, were all the same breed. I have two hens of a different breed, and they wanted nothing to do with all that, so they stayed out of it entirely.

Thanks for the replies everyone, the advice helped. Then I realized she’s beginning to brood. It’s been two years since she’s laid eggs, so it wasn’t expected

With 10 birds I have up to 5 feeders/bowls each morning, spread apart in the run and 1 inside the coop. There's still going to be some squabbling as birds run around looking for the "best" spot but it goes a long way in diffusing any food guarding or aggression.

Me too for my 19 hens I have 4 feeders and 4 waters.
