Good morning!

Anyone have an idea of what breed could be used to make an olive egger that would result in an all black chicken, including comb and legs?

She has black, iridescent feathers, muffs and beard with black skin all over 😄 I’ll try to get a picture, she’s a bit skiddish.

Thank you!

Sounds like she has some Ayam Ceymani in her.Where did she come from?
They are from My Pet Chicken! We got three olive egger chicks - one looks exactly like a legbar, one like a blue copper Maran and then my special all black gal :). Interesting because otherwise, they match MPC description of their olive eggers:

Black skin and comb, and sometimes organs are caused by fibromelanosis, which means it must have silkie, ayam cemani, or svarthona. It is a dominant gene though, so it may not be a direct descendant.

Here is Princess Rilian (kids borrowed the name from the Narnia series). She’s about five months old now, and has very lightly feathered feet. I guess her comb is more grayish

She is gorgeous! I’m guessing not Ayam cemani because of the shimmer on her feather is teal, cemanis have red shimmer. It looks like she might have some silkie in her though!
I looked up the svarthona that was mentioned and there are a lot of similarities! Very interesting.
