I just hatched out an olive egger. It is blue with slate legs. I crossed my black Americauna Roo with a Blue Marans hen. What are the chances that this chick will stay blue?

It will always be blue. If the parents are pure blue and black, and the chick begins to be blue - It will keep that color. Only if you have parents such as a Black Copper and a Blue will the blue offspring begin to show coppering once they age.

Is this what you're wanting to know of?

Awesome! Thank you! I was so thrilled to get a blue. I have been trying for a long time to get a blue chick. I only have one blue marans hen and she is beautiful! Yes, that is what I was wanting to know. Since some chicks start out different colors than what they will be as adults, I was just wondering.
