We are at 7 1/2 weeks old now. Any guesses on gender? I know I'm impatient but I really hoping girls. #4 has been like this since 4 weeks. No growth since then. "Shes" also the only one without a pea comb.

Keep an eye on 4, still could be female but less likely than the others. But other than that you have 3 girls!
Gosh I hope so. someone told me #1 was a boy. I'm not yet worried about 4 because this was one of my girls from my first flock at 5 weeks and she needed up being a hen. Fingers crossed.

Well I just breathed a sigh of relief. Any males I would have to cull because i cant keep them and, because of these chicks, my flock is now carriers for MG so I cant rehome them. Fingers crossed they are girls. 🤞🤞
I remember reading about that. I'm so sorry that happened to you. It would be bad enough if the "breeder" didn't know, but understandable. However, the fact that they knew and just didn't mention it... I'd be furious.

Oh I'm beyond furious. I'm also frustrated because they were quarantined for 6 weeks and never showed any symptoms. They still havent shown any symptoms. From my reading, carriers most times dont. I couldnt have done anything else on my end. She could have told me at least.

That totally sucks, I'm so sorry. My flock has a history of respiratory illness as well...likely MG except my birds never responded to the oral medication...they either cleared up on their own or slowly got worse and worse before being put down or passing away :(

All of mine responded to tylan and are doing much better but it sucks because I didnt want to have to close my flock. I was also starting to get really upset when someone was telling me they think all of these chicks were cockerels.
