No worries. It happens. Heck I am a past master at it. @ShrekDawg is always chasing me around cleaning up my messes when I post in the wrong thread.Weird I thought I posted in the other link. Sorry!
Yes she was already laying. I assumed she wasn’t being intentionally deceptive and just had no way of knowing which eggs she was laying. Was the hen already laying when you bought it? If not, the seller could not guarantee what color egg the hen would lay. Even an Easter Egger may lay a brown egg.
That's a good way of looking at it.Yes she was already laying. I assumed she wasn’t being intentionally deceptive and just had no way of knowing which eggs she was laying.
Not everyone knows that, it's not conmon knowledge. All the more reason to disclose to the buyer that the hen might lay a brown egg, despite being an "olive egger".
I suppose that may be true. I assumed if someone is selling an olive egger, they ought to know something about olive eggers (especially a year old bird that's already laying). You're right, though, it's probably best to give the benefit of the doubt. I guess I'm just cynical these days. Not everyone knows that, it's not conmon knowledge.
