olive egger or brown leghorn

this is my chicken blue. she laid her first egg today and it was green. we thought she was a brown leghorn but now were not so sure... Thoughts?

Comb’s wrong for a leghorn. That’s an olive egger. But wow what a pretty egg!!

Brown leghorns have single combs and white earlobes (plus lay white eggs), your girl has a modified pea comb and red earlobes

really !! yay! we were trying to get a variety of egg colors when we selected breeds so when we thought she was a brown leghorn we were a little bummed out cuz then we wouldnt have a dark green egg!

Her comb is not a proper single. Chances are she has Welsummer in her, which accounts for the speckles and the green egg. She'd be an EE, which is not a true variety, just a bird that usually lays a colored egg, has a modified pea comb, and has muffs/beard.

My olive egger that laid brown had speckled eggs like that and it cleared up after a month or so. Those are calcium deposits - her egg system is still figuring things out. So that Ca going away is normal.
