I have a two week old Olive Egger (supposedly) pullet right now, and I guess I am a little confused on the breed in general. When I look up pictures, they all look different... Olive Eggers are a mix of different breeds, correct? So do their colors vary greatly? Right now mine is starting to get darker grey feathers.

Also, since the beginning "she" has always looked taller than normal, which I chalked up to the breed (since I'm new to Olive Eggers). I got her with a Salmon Favorelle, so I figured their body types are just different. I'm assuming it's too early to tell, but what would be the early signs of a roo particularly in an Olive Egger? I'm crossing my fingers for a pullet, since she was ordered from my local feed store as a pullet batch!

Any info on the breed/sexing would be fantastic!

An olive egger is any bird that has both blue egg shell and brown egg color genes. So there are a lot of different ways to make them by crossing blue egg and brown egg laying breeds.

Here's pictures of two of mine (pullets).

Here she is next to my salmon favorelle who’s the same age. Is it too early to tell if she’s a roo?

Yeah. I see what you mean. That comb is a little bit suspicious on a 2 week old. But I would wait until at least 6 weeks to pass judgement. I thought Bean (the blue olive egger I showed you) might be a boy for a while, and she's a nice pullet.

Ugh yes the waiting game! Do you think her lack of tail is suspicious? It's hard to tell since I don't have another Olive Egger to compare her to

I’m interested to hear what became of this post. I have 2 olive eggers and one has a pretty suspicious reddish comb on top. She (or he) is just now 5 weeks old.

I went on vacation and now the birds are much bigger. One has a comb that’s very red. The other is a muted red. Could one of them be female?
