ETA: I evented for years, and shipped horses across the US for Pony Club events. These horses are the focus of the best vets in the world.

I already told my dh that when the Olympics get back to the US we are going. Dont care what part of the country hosts them, but I am going to go to the Equestrian events and the gymnastic events. Even if we have to take a loan out against the house for airfare,hotel and tickets.
I am going to rent the dvds when they become available. I have to admit I am ticked at not being able to watch the cross country portion of the eventing and the Grand Prix dressage. I love all dressage, but I can ride the test they did on day 1 with my retired/retrained OTTB. I want passage. I want Piaffes! I want the higher movements!! And the cross country course looked so beautiful (pictures are all I have seen) The dragons, panda's and koi.

Only sport I like watching in the Winter Games is the ice skating. This year I have to say I have watched events that I never would have thought I would watch. Like the US soccer team and the kayak.

I have been watching the olympics. I love them.. I followed the olympic womens gymnastics since I was little. I compeated in gymnastics for over 10 years then coached for another 5. The US bombed. Not a good place to do so but did. Then continued to bomb almost loosing to 3rd..

Granted china has its fair share of MAJOR issues.. But all I can do is hope that the olympics put a big enough pressure on them to make some perminant changes. We will see.

As for the 2010 winter olympics..

OH MY I am from Bellingham WA and that is about 40 min from vancouver... I am soo going home to see the winter olympics.. Although I might have to get a bit closer to canada that crossing is going to be quite a pain. We are already starting to make plans.
