We need this rain bad. We need a lot more than this too.

Our governor just had to back off from an ultimatum he threw down to the legislature, the point being "come up with a water policy or I will veto everything until you do" He didn't, but it underscores how desperate our water situation has become. And its only going to get worse if we don't find new ways to provide for everyone and agriculture too. Its a long complicated debate but to me the only real answer is more storage(dams) and desalination in So Cal. Or no more showers.

The water situation weighs on us (those paying attention anyhow) and the news is just capitalizing on that fact. Business as usual.

Hey Debi! I am a whole 30 minutes from you (if even) and we've had drizzle ALL day. NOt heavy rain and obviously nothing like what Nifty has,but noinetheless we're sure muddy and all my chickens are going to bed wet. DHs parents are in VV, just 15 minutes away and they haven't had any rain.

The news said that the HD might get 4" of rain between today and tomorrow. I wish! If we do, tomorrow will be WET!

ETA: By the way, did you hear that we're suppose to have 70+ mph winds here? The wind I don't doubt, that's nothing new, but the 4" of rain is suspect.
