Hi Onecent, I had a similar problem a few years ago. The county had hired a few more code enforcement officers to Help "clean up " the county. I was cited for having chickens in city limits. I did a little research and found that Code enforcement in Lake County can not cite for code violations of this type unless they have a complaint from a local resident. I think this clause was in there to stop overeager officers. I know this is county specific but it may give you an option, I was able to keep all of my chickens.

I have never seen a place that was completly "code compliant" Best of luck, Mark
