OMG I found stray chicks!!! Age? Breed? What now?

Amazingly, I have a young hen that’s been broody (for the first time) in the best box for about a week (I added some extra nest boxes for the other girls to give her some space).

I did a carefully introduction, and she adopted these two chicks right away!!! Lots of cooing, telling the chicks what to eat - it’s so cute!

I used a small dog crate to block off the nesting box while creating an extended space to brood. I was worried about what the other hens might do to the chicks.

I’ve read some folks saying keeping the brood separate for several weeks, but I’ve also read some folks just let broody hens raise their chicks loose with the rest of the flock. I don’t know what to do! Any suggestions?
