OMG, I killed a chick!

I had just recently read a thread where someone else did it. Now, I did it too. I am always so very careful, too; but it happened.

I killed a chick. They were all at the far end of the brooder, when I removed the long red feeder yesterday. I filled it up and replaced it. Then, today, I removed it, and found I had crushed a baby chick. I am just sick about it. I thought I was so careful. All my fault. The poor thing.

Maybe the chicks got stomped on and the feeder was hiding its poor little body until you found it and it "looked" like the feeder was on him? Maybe its not your fault after all?? Im sorry:-(
