Thankyou ill stop worrying and wait it outThey are to young to be sure. I found with the first batch of silkies I had that the boys did stand much more upright and at attention and my girl was more horizontal in posture. This was evident fairly early. Also the boys had combs that came in quicker and bigger. They also began “fighting.” Not trying to hurt but jostling and bumping each other, I’m assuming to determine dominance. Finally they both started crowing. That’s when I found them new last names. None of my silkies from that group had super fluffy crests. In fact the only hen has a tiny little Mohawk like crest and smooth feathers on the ends of her wings. Still as already said the best way to be sure is if she lays or if he crows.
Ouch, That's a lot of boys! Before 1 week old i used the wing sexing method on ny 5 baby chicks and the method seemed to show they were girls so i kept them. They are now 7-8 weeks old and i see what i think are streamerson atleast 2 of them, can someone put me out of my misety and proove me right or wrong, if im wrong im gonna be devastated.
Aw, thanks for sharing it!Once your silkies are old enough to identify the gender, this article may help:
