I love old cemetaries too; we have some really nice ones around here, and both of my families are buried in very old ones, back to the revolutionary war . . .grave rubbing is a very fun thing to do, know people who do it and LOVE it. There is a house in not far from where I live that has the old man buried in the back yard. Gives people the creeps, but he isn't going to hurt anyone . . .very nice stone, wealthy old man. . .some of the stones in these old cemetaries around here had to cost a LOT of money back in the day. We have a lot of little bitty burial sites around here too, even had a really bad deal last year just a few miles north of where we live as the crow flies, where a farmer went to the county board and got permission to dig a pond by a cemetary, and after he built this beautiful pond, the board came back and said, "uh-oh, you just dug up 2 acres of cemetary." So, it caused quite a stink for awhile, although it wasn't "used", it was on the other side of the fence around the graveyard, he had to give it back and fill it in . . .turned out to be quite an $$ pond. BUT, the board should have researched it BEFORE they gave him permission, not AFTER. Where's your sign is what I would have wanted to ask them!!!
SAD story about the little girl catching on fire, how horrible for the family . . .lots of babies didn't live long then either, they are all over the place in both of my family cemetaries.
