No, I will be dangling it just out of reach!!!! Paybacks you know!!!!
Sounds like your math is correct. You wouldn't count the day they were set since it was so late. What is in those eggies?????
Short Answer is MUTTS, longer answer is 27 (started with 36) home-grown eggs..... Chester our roo (see thread Everyone, Meet Chester! for pics), has 3 Brown Leghorns, 2 RIR?NHRs, 1 Barred Rock in his Harem.
A fox got one of our neighbors' chickens a month ago, so I offered to hatch them out a dozen babies, on condition they attempt to fox-proof the coop. The rest were/are insurance of a good hatch.
I'm predicting you will see pips by late this evening...(consulting crystal ball and magic 8-ball)
It's funny now... I've done SO many hatches now that once I stop turning I only check first thing in the morning to make sure there's enough water. I go about my business until I hear someone screaming in there to be let out! LOL! Unfortunately (or fortunately), the only cure for the impatience during hatching is to hatch LOTS of babies!
