I have one mutt chick completely out, one mutt chick working really hard at following suit, and 4 silkies at one stage or another of coming into the world!!!!

(I just passed out from all the stress this hatch has caused me)

Broody hen is still firmly planted on nest, bit me when I tried to make her go eat....makes me wonder if I shouldn't leave the killer alone!

oh and forgot my gas mask upon checking and nearly passed out from broody poo stink!

I am thinking you are a little TOO brave checking that girl (but I probably would too)!!! I am hoping some of these Silkie brats turn into broody hens for me.

Oh, there will be pics when everyone finishes their slow progress here.

I can't wait to actually "meet" the Silkies!!!! There are 3 Silkie eggs that are doing nothing.

Never forget the gas mask!!!!!!! LOL

Oh, and LOL, I forgot for a brief moment that it was lockedhearts instead of you with babies hatching now. OOPSY

Yea, beacuase of the hazards to my health, LOL, not sure if I am going to attempt Monday night's candling session or not! If they were her own eggs I wouldn't bother, only reason I want to candle is because they are shipped eggs.

Any opinions?

I know it may seem mean, but I pick up Elvis by the tail to take her off the nest. Have you ever noticed that when you pick up a broody off the nest and set them down, they just sit wherever you put them? If you pick them up by the tail, it makes them get up and walk around. hehehe. Elvis sees me coming now, and pops off the nest all by herself.

This morning, the broody elephant dropped another load...

*edited to add that Elvis weighs all of a pound dripping wet... I wouldn't try it with a LF breed...

I don't know, I am a candling freak...but then mine are always in a bator. Don't know what I would do with a broody.
