OMG it is now TOMORROW!!!!!!!!! Low quality pics p. 17

They aren't even standing up, so no, they won't drink on their own. I just took them out of the bator this afternoon. I gave them some water mixed with a tiny bit of sugar to try to give them a little boost. They will drink it when I dribble it along their beak.

Gosh I don't know then. I am sorry

I will pray for your little silkies.

I sent you a pm. I hope it helps.

I don't want to bother them more than I have to until the Silkies are stronger so I will take some good pics then. The mutts are doing great...worn out fromtrying to take over the world. I lost one more Silkie through the night but the two remaining are gaining strength quickly it seems (thanks Quail_Antwerp, I think your suggeston is helping). Gonna try adding a bit of egg yolk here in a minute and see if that helps some, too. I know that is perfect baby chick food. Anyway, here are the pics I took a minute ago....right before feeding the Silkies.

These are the mutt babies....asleep in an empty bowl with food all over the brooder around it.

Oh, and believe it or not, these are from the same hen and rooster. EE hen BSL Roo

Baby #1 looking like she is not at all interested in having this done.

And baby #2 asleep but you can see the insanely fluffy legs in this one (hanging down between my fingers)! These guys are beautiful!!!

OH they are beautiful!!!

Yes, I think egg yolk will help. I didn't think to mention that in my pm. I sometimes mix scrambled egg yolk in the soup mash.

I am sorry you lost one during the night.

come on little silkies! You can do it! You are supposed to be running around sucking us into wanting more with all your evil cuteness!!

Thanks so much guys!!! I really appreciate all the good luck being sent their way. Just had to add this pic. She was sitting up yelling at me....sounded like I was getting a good scolding for something. They definitely seem to be improving.

The reason she looks like she is in a small box is because she is.
smile.png
They are in a tiny box inside the brooder to keep them from being stomped.

One more....because eating is hard work and egg yolk is messy!!!

Oh those pics are just too cute!!

C'mon little silkies!! Get big and strong!! You can do it!!

I am starting to feel quite hopeful about these two.
smile.png
While feeding one, the other tried to climb over the little box I have them in....a definite good sign!!! I am about to pull up the list of Chinese names and let my son name them....was afraid to before now.
smile.png
They HAVE to have Chinese names, BTW. LOL He has a Japanese chicken who HAD to have a JApanese name (she is Kawaii), too.

Thanks!!!

Ya know, this is going to sound sooooooo strange!!! I think they are just stunning, but there is something about them that reminds me of my mother-in-law!!!

I am really having to get past that! Maybe just that pretentious look? I don't know!!! LOL
