Mine are too young to lay, but won't long.

But it's funny, I know this sounds daft.... but I was wondering if you can eat the first ones??? I was wondering if they are like practice ones... or is that a really blond comment! ( i am brunette by the way!

OH WOW!! That is SO exciting!! We just moved our first ever silkies outside to their coop so we were excited about that, but now I can't wait for our first egg after seeing yours!!!

Thanks everyone! I have gotten egg #2....once I catch who is laying the eggs...hahaha seems at this point to be every other day....One was laid late afternoon the other around 12:00 noon.....Does anyone know if it is typical for them to lay at the same time or does it vary? Maybe I have more than one laying? I have 2 that I think may be the ones laying...but not sure.....lol I have 1 Barred Plymouth Rock she is the oldest (20 weeks Wednesday)and a Jersey Giant that is a week younger(19 weeks Thursday)...they are both real red in the comb etc....the rest are not as red yet........The Barred Plymouth Rock as I understand should lay daily....Jersey Giant every other day......so I'm trying to figure out who it is....chicken madness...hahahaha

Gesh if you saw me the day I Discoverd our Stray friend Had chicks!! I ran thru my house squeeling CHICKSSSSSSSSSS CHICKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS OMG OMG OMG CHICKSSSSSSSS..
my family was like what and im like Chick chick has baby's with her..
yeaaaa my family was up off their chairs faster then i have ever seen them to come see.

so I can see me when I get my first Egg that i know about.. EGGGGGGGGGGGGGG OMG OMG OMG EGGGGGGGGGGGG lol..
