OMG(osh)! First Pip!!!

Did the humidity drop out or anything and cause a shrink wrap? What is the current humidity? Not being able to see and hear it im not sure. Is there any way to get a flashlight where you can see the hole and maybe see if the beak moves any.

Last night I didn’t hear the alarm to put water in the incubator so the humidity got to 35, the current humidity is 58. The temp and humidity have been pretty stable. I would have to open the incubator and take the egg out to use the flashlight.

This is what it looks like right now. BTW today is day 30.😕 When should I “give up”? This is my first batch and I would be very disappointed if they don’t hatch.

When they hatch the humidity needs to stay around 70% if not the chick will shrink wrap in the inner membrane. He might be shrink wrapped in there 35 is pretty low for hatching.

If its day 30 with no movement id say its probably done. Especially with no other eggs started pipping. Reach in grab that egg and take it out close the lid back see if has any movement. If it does get your humidity higher put it back in. If it is moving you could assist in opening the egg slowly little bits at a time. Other than that there's not much that can be done.

I do alot of dry incubating but I live in south Alabama so my humidity stays 20ish to 45ish. At lockdown I raise it atleast to 65. Usually it shoots up past 90% with the first hatch but I never let it drop below 60 during the whole lockdown. With that being said its your first hatch all mine died my first hatch to, so I took that new learned knowledge and used it toward my next attempt where I hatched out 90% now several hundred hatches later I can almost hatch an egg on my truck dash 😆 and you'll get there to because your not gonna give up just because these didn't work out. 😉
