I think their illness made them this way - the antibiotic got into their system and I believe is making them better which is why they are eating and drinking.
I had a 3 wk.cocker pup doing horribly from illness - the vet prescribed something but none of the chain drug stores had it. Luckily I found one small pharmacy and they had it. Pup was laying like a rag doll, I fell asleep (after nights of watching him breathe etc) . I awoke to thumping around in the puppy pen - the little stinker had a washcloth to lay on and he was growling at it and fighting with it. At first I thought he was having fits, then I realized he was just feeling way better. From that moment on I knew he would be fine. Called the pharmacist to tell him he saved my puppy.
Oh he was sick to begin with because I tube fed him and accidentally got fluid in his lungs. So I was a stupid jerk and beating myself up like you. I had raised many litters and knew how to tube feed just got careless I guess because it was so easy to do. I am subscribing to his thread till I know your poor little guy is out of the woods.
Sounds a bit like coryza which if it's in your flock you may have to treat all your birds because once they have it their a carrier of it for life. Just keep a closed flock and treat them as needed. I know if I ever had it in my flock I would just close my flock off their my babies!

Well I'm not sure about that from what I read theres a really bad smell and none of them have any smell to them, just runny noses, almost like a cold, I thought perhaps it was because of our weather, we have changed to cold weather very quickly and lots of rain, in fact we hit records... We are now on our 7th hour and I will upload another video because amazingly enough it seems like my worst silkie is breathing a little more at ease..
Here we are in our 7th hour, Sorry about the background music, I'm watching the Twilight movie. LOL... But his breathing to me seems like it's getting better, calming down a lot.. His poop is no longer watery, it did get solid. The only time he stands now is to poop. so clean up is obvious. lol.. The others are doing good as well, the bantam is doing nothing but sleeping but I did catch her drinking. But she is able to stand unlike this little guy.. The other silkie is walking around and looks like she's making the most progress.. The one I'm worried about is this guy, he was the only one unable to stand and kept his head down to the ground.. But it looks like he may overcome but we still have 5 more hours anything could happen.. Oh and I gave him a drink WOW, he took a nice large gulp....
We are at the 9th hour and sleeping like a baby.. I think i will join him.. Thank you everyone for helping me through my screw up. I thought for sure I was going to lose them all and thanks for everyone's positive influence and advice, we are still alive... I'll send pictures of what we look like in the morning...You guys are all WONDERFUL.... THANK YOU SOOOO VERY MUCH............
