It was a heck of a night last night. What we all fear happened! We had bad storms move through and about 5:00 last evening the lights flickered, then went out. OMG....I ran to the shed and pulled out "ol' genny"
She hadn't been started in almost a year. Something I have had on my list is getting her out to run a little just to get the cob webs out.
About 10 pulls later, she began to sputter, then purr like a kitten!
I quickly ran cords and soon had two brooders, and two incubators plugged in. The temp in the incubators had only dropped to about 98 degrees. Thank Gawd I was home and awake, and knew right away there was a problem. The little glowing lights on the incubators and the heat lamps in the brooders sure were a pretty site when the generator finely kicked in!
The power was finely restored about mid night.
phew!
