OMG the power went out, are my eggs going to die?? (They hatched!)

Good news!!!! Today I decided to try candling the eggs, out of the 32 I had, 4 were obviously duds, and the others? MOVING! Took a bit of manipulation to be able to see through the speckled shells, not everyone is kickin and twitching. But I'd say out of the eggs that weren't duds, there's veins, and about 12 of them are flip floppin about in there.

Hurray! I"m so happy! They are ALIVE! Resilient little babies, you guys can make it! There's another snow storm coming this weekend in the forecast too,

But I'm thinking everyone will be alright, hatch date is just around the corner, should be about Jan 6th for hatch. Lockdown is right around the corner, c'mon babies you can do it!

Alright everyone, we are in LOCKDOWN! Hatch date is coming up, should be Monday the 6th. We'll see if that actually happens. No pips, no rockers and rollers YET. I'll keep you guys updated.

How long from pip to hatch? After the first few pecks the little guys seems to have given up Been almost 16 hours. No wiggles or pips or peeps from anyone else. Today is day 18, lets hope someone hatches today!

Lol, we moved home with our incubators full... still had 50% hatch with both quail & chickens. How wonderful nature is.

Quail hatch pretty fast, its like daisys popping up everywhere. Once one pops out the others soon follow over a few hours

Still no sign of any progress on the first egg that started to crack a bit. I do have a few others that started to crack today. This is driving me nuts!

Humidity is about 68%. Think that's enough?

if you want to get your humidity up soak a paper towel in water and put it in the incubator
however your humidity is fine for hatching

pretty rare but sometimes they dont make it out of the shell
maybe it just so happened to be your first

I can't imagine that the whole lot of them are having the same problem though ):

There's about 28 eggs. Six have cracks but no beaks still. I work this evening, so maybe when I get home from work tomorrow morning there will be more progress. I'm thinking that if so many of them are all doing the same thing, perhaps this is normal?
