I have four two-day-old Runner ducklings that I put in with some week-old Cochin chicks, and I was worried about how the chicks would treat the ducklings....I put them in, and immediately, one of the chicks walked up and pecked one of the ducklings in the face!
The duckling looked up at that chick and nipped it right back!
Your Ninja is so cute! I have to ask though, I recently got a cayuga baby that looks JUST like your BEI. I understand they BOTH get the beetle green shine to them when they are older....how can you tell the difference btw BEI and Cayuga?

Now, the ducklings rule the brooder.
Congrats on your Ninja!
In our brooder the Pekins definitely rule, but the little Ninja doesn't care. 1 minute he/she is hanging with the Pekins and the next he/she is hanging with the 2 black chicks in the brooder (a turken and a jersey giant)
I can't believe how quickly Ninja fit in. Ducks rule!

That is an excellent question. To be honest they look the same and I wouldn't know the difference if they were together at this age. This little one came from a box labeled BEI at the auction. Our friends have cayuga and I know they get much larger. I'm sure this little one will teach me a lot.
