OMG! What is happening to them?!?!

The last several weeks my little flock of ten have not been laying and losing feathers. I assumend they were molting. This past week because of the time change, my husband(who is not at all observant) has been feeding and watering them. Today I walked out and saw this

mites or lice? Protein deficiency? Hopefully, someone will have some answers for you.

NO lice/ mites or anything they are molting heavy is all all good..no eggs for a bit for you though they dont lay when molting-great time to check and treat for lice and mites though

They look like they are going thru a molt to me. Keep an eye out for mites and lice to be sure but i am pretty confident the girls will looks brand new in a few weeks or so. You can help them by upping their protein while they are molting, it helps mine get thru it a little quicker.

It looks like new feathers growing in. The feathers are inside that waxy looking quill. It will fall off and voila new feather.
