We upgraded the operating system and the site was down for 42 minutes. We didn't know if it would be 5 or 500 so we decided not to yell fire in a crowded theat... forum.

For the first hour after the upgrade we had some other problems to work out but I think we're past them. See here.


Like i said... you try unistalling and reinstalling an operating system on a computer with only 42 mins of downtime!

All good! It is hard to know if / when to make an announcement like that.

Next time anything like this is scheduled again I'll post something in the announcement section for everyone to see.

Site seems zippy fast right now. Don't know if that is because people are out and not online on a Friday or if the updates to the OS are paying off. Hoping it is the latter.

Ive been going back and forth between BYC and Theeasygarden .. so I havent noticed other than it has taken a long time when I click.. I also just went from DSL ultra to DSL light. So I was thinking.. boy dialup is faster than this junk.. glad I didnt cancel it all together and go back to dial up ..
