Omlet USA is now selling the eglu cube.

They are pricy but perfect for my urban chicken coop needs. They don't need a permit like practically anything bigger than a dog house around here, and no carpentry skills required. It's nice and easy to clean which is going to save me lots of time and effort, and it is portable so the girls can range and graze. I ordered one. I will do an update when it comes and let everyone know how I like it.

I agree, here, we don't have problems with too much sun and heat. We have too much shade and rain. We get moulds and funky dark dank smells. The idea of taking dish soap and a hose to the whole thing and then drying it with a rag seemed pretty irresistable.

I would totally get one if I could afford it! I love the idea of the ease of cleaning and collecting eggs and opening the doors - if I had the money, and wasn't able to build myself a coop - I would probably want to buy one of these.

All coop manufacturers seem to use the same stocking guidelines. It doesn't seem to matter what manufacturer it is, they all seem to do that. I just ignore it. I've seen plenty of coop plans like that, too.

Every post I've read on BYC read from folks who actually own Eglu's have nothing but good things to say about them.

I think they're wicked cool.
