at about 2 months old, would a hen have blue coming in on her neck?? or does this mean trouble is a cock??
also seeing sheens of it in the headfeather thingys... the crown... whatever it's really called... they're not solid yet, just starting to see it...

will that tell me anything, or do i have to wait till wing feathers start coming in??

Someone may tell you different.. but color on the neck to me means nothing... Sometimes they look blue, sometimes they look green.. the only sure way is to see the bars on the back and wings... then, as they start to mature, you can tell...

post pics of the birds back and wings for us to see... try to get them clear... then we should be able to tell you.

i'll just wait a bit longer... i know they're IB.. well this one is, the others i don't know the parentage of... but i'm assuming they're IB.. look just like the one from my eggs... i have 5 of the second batch, and i can see a little size difference in them.. but i don't know for sure that they're all the same parents, so that doesn't mean much....
i'll just wait for the wings to show up....

uummm what if they'r back shoulder IB?? will the males look different from the femalesin the wings at a young age?? they won't have barring obviously, but will their wings be darker??

Well BS as the get older the males will get darker and start to get their color while the females will start to go from yellow to white with blacks specks all over their back. Does this help?

so even IB black shoulder are yellow or white as chicks??? all these looked the same... like IB chicks.. that more brownstripeyish??? lol....

so i'll assume that they are all IB ....

Yes BS are yellow as chicks the only difference in color between them ad white chicks is their flight feathers will be a dirty looking color, where as the flight feathers on a white chick are white. So yes if they were all brown then they were not Blackshoulder. However if there was a blackshoulder adult in the cage they came from they could be split blackshoulder.

Here is a picture of a spalding black shoulder chick on the right (india blue black shoulder chick would look exactly the same as this chick.)
