On day 22 (Sat.) and NOTHING...how long should I wait?

You guys dont realize how depressed you are making some of us.... I went on lock down yesterday so today is day 19 and I am sitting here hoping that maybe the little critters will come a couple days early... then I stumble across this thread and realize I may still have a week.... great.

It must be because the ambient temps are so low...wonder if it's barometric pressure or some random thing! Thankfully they were slow but are doing good now! I have so many in the bator, but none due until the end of Feb...waaahh!

3 out now and all but 2 have pipped! Im not giving up hope yet. The ones out are actually pecking at the pipped eggs. Is this them trying to help? Or is this just them envestigating the sarroundings? Either way all is good! I am just so relieved they are finally ready to come. I was so worried. I just knew I blew my first hatch. I knew I had killed them all. I was about ready to give all the others left away so they would have a better chance. I am SO relieved its ok! I am so excited now! I cant wait to get the others into lockdown. LOL I think it might have something to do with barometric pressure too. We just had a storm front blow out. and BANG!!! babies. They should have come during the storm. but wher late. I am jusso Happy! Yeah!!!!!! Thanx all!

I'm part of another thread too and all of theirs were hatching EARLY when we had all set on the same day(btw, we just had a low come through here too when I was due to hatch on the 12th). Just like bigstack said, we both thought we had done something REALLY wrong. Trust me, these little guys will test your patient to the fullest possible level!!!! I learned my lesson, patients is a MUST!!! Everyone kept telling me it would be fine, hard to believe when you're on day 23 and you don't have anything, but it's true, everything will be fine. What I had to do to keep my mind from worrying about my chicks was to look at everyone else's pics and advice....we're all here to support each other, that's what BYC is about...take advantage of this wonderful webpage!!!!

I just had a 3rd one hatch at 1230pm(all black with blonde wing tips and blonde highlights on its neck, so far looks like the black sheep of the group), 2 more still pipping, and 2 doing nothing

These 2 hatched this morning 840am and 910am

So friggen cute...they're cuddling together. Hard to tell whick head belongs to which cause they almost look like twins, lol.

The one on the left is a bit darker at the base of it's head, that's the only way I can tell the difference between the two.

Bigstak...so cute!!! Congrats to you, so worth the wait!!! I forgot, did you say what kind they are? Mine are all mixed except 1 I know of for sure (RIR), which is starting to zip right now

Sorry all JG's most black. This set is the blue, black splash set. I do have 10 RIR in bator. the next set goes on lockdown Wednesday. Then The RIR on Friday I think. I'll have to check my log.

I only have one bator, you're going to laugh you butt off, my son just came in with the eggs we gathered today from the coop and said "let's put these in mom, I want more baby chicks to hatch right now"

Funny how quickly 23 days goes by for them, he's totally forgotten about the waiting period...yet that was the longest 23days of my life, I will NEVER forget!!!
BTW...1 of the last 2 eggs just pipped

I'm glad yours hatched. I went 25 days and shut the mother ship down. Nothing. Getting ready to try again. Got some cuckoo marans and EE's from Chicky tock and will be throwing some of my own in. I was really sad about not getting any chickies out of 8 eggs oh so sad
