On day 3 of trying to hatch an egg in my boobs

Pics
Oh, definitely! I was a little silly, myself, earlier in the thread.
I also wish her good luck. Sorry, I wasn't trying to sound rude when I said that those posts were silly -- they just amused me, that's all, but I do know that you guys meant it. I just have an odd sense of humor... heh. Anyway, didn't mean to irritate anyone, and good luck to PrincessKiara and her little boobegg!

No worries at all!

Hello all!
So I'm very new to chickens. I recently bought two adult Silkie hens, and impulsively stuck their egg in my bra Friday night (they were housed with a rooster up until I bought them around a week ago). It's currently in a sock inside my sports bra, under/between my boobs. I'm just scared my melons will crush it, those things are heavy haha!

Anyway, how soon can I tell if anything is developing? It's been 2 days, today will be the 3rd. I've slept with it in my bra, just have to sleep on my back lol.

So uh. Any tips? Anyone done it before?

I have a few other eggs I'd like to hatch, but for those I will be building a homemade incubator. There's only so much room under my melons, after all!

I have a 40-watt incandescent bulb, now just trying to figure out whether to use a Styrofoam box, shallow plastic box or a cardboard box for the body of the incubator. I live in the Caribbean so it's pretty hot and humid here.

Actually if you look it up women did this back before incubators. I def think you should look it up, make sure you're turning the egg and candle it after a few days

Guys now I'm nervous. What if that was a pip and I covered it? My mind is running away with me. I can't hear peeping. It's just day 18 and my body temp is lower than a chickens', surely it isn't a pip? Plus it looks like a pip but... inverted, and in the same place where there was spiderwebbing pattern under the shell? It's not is it?

It's really unlikely. Is it possible to move it to the incubator for the last few day? It's less likely to suffer more damage. Breasts are heavy, you know?

Easy there, @PrincessKiara -- if it were a pip, it would be raised, not dented. Plus, it's still early, and the chick hasn't exactly had optimum conditions for the past two-and-a-half weeks. I'd say that the dent happened when you bumped into something or jostled it getting dressed in the morning. If it starts pushing to get out, the remove the tape, of course.
Frankly, I'm impressed that you've gotten it this far -- I could never be that careful so consistently for so long... I'd probably forget about it and have it broken by day three! Well... maybe not forgotten, considering the position, but it would probably frequently slip my mind that it was there.

You're probably right. I'm just at a loss as to how it happened. Because it was intact when I got dressed and got to work, I took it out as soon as I got to work to change the tissue on it and it was fine. Then in the evening again and bam dented :/ I'm getting nervous lol, please baby hatch please lol

Things happen and we don't notice them, sometimes. It's like coming home from a walk in the woods and finding a tick crawling up your leg -- or, in a less gross example, baking a cake and realizing that you have somehow managed to get flour on the seat of your pants and down the cabinet doors. And it won't necessarily have terrible repercussions, either (for example, the clothes must now be washed because that was the only pair of blue jeans that fit you just right and you don't want to go out in them). Just let it ride, PrincessKiara... like a guinea hen perched on the side mirror of the Jeep, just let it be and keep an eye on it....
