On day 3 of trying to hatch an egg in my boobs

Pics
UPDATE!!!!

I FULLY EXPECT THAT WE WILL HAVE BABIES TOMORROW!!!

Chicken Egg 1 quit on me, unknown causes. Chicken Egg 2 is right on track and I've added two more.

Now for the quail!!!

All three remaining babies are alive and kicking!!!

One I believe may be malpositioned, so I'm praying the little guy or girl doesn't have an issue hatching. He seems to be more towards the pointy end of the egg. Today being day 15 though he could still come around.

Another baby seems both malpositioned and slightly smaller. I'm not super worried though, he's probably just a day or so behind in development. Egg is being religiously kept pointy end down.

AND!!! The moment we've all been waiting for!!!

Quail Egg 1 is pressing up against the air cell, kicking against it! He fills the entire egg now and I can see the membrane wiggle! I fully expect an internal pip tonight or tomorrow at latest. Soooooooo excited! W00t!!

Also, re: my other thread, my asshat rooster Nugget has been less of an asshat since I've been spritzing him with a water bottle every time he's crowed. He's settled down considerably and now mostly just chittered all day long... I know it will take several days of consistency to get him to stop crowing up a storm every morning, but hey, he's learning! I always knew my boy was smart!

Still no pip :/ I place the eggs on a hard surface and they don't appear to wiggle. However when held up to the light I can plainly see them move. Maybe they just need a little longer. Argh...hurry babies, hurry!

You won't always see wiggling. Even when they're sitting in an incubator you could stare at them for quite some time before witnessing a wiggler.

Is the air cell drawing down yet? That's usually something you'll see within 24-48 of hatch.
If by drawing down you mean its edges seem to be pulling further into the egg, then yes. In fact I see the chick pressing against the edges of the air cell, not the middle, and those edges have pulled back a fair bit to where the air cell is no longer perfectly round.

Yes, it starts to look kind of oblong or almost like the air cell saddled but it's what is expected to see right around hatch. Fingers crossed it's soon!
