I don't remember with quail exactly but most poultry takes up to 24 hrs from internal to external.

It will be awhile, you should rest while you can. First comes the internal pip then the external and so forth. Most of my buttons hatch within 24 hours after the internal pip.

It 100% is. It's taking up the WHOLE space where the air cell used to be. I wonder how long it has been internally pipped to be like that?
