On day 3 of trying to hatch an egg in my boobs

Why so? Lol

Eggy is doing well as of last night! We are approaching lockdown and I'm super nervous. Today is day 17.

Wow! I can't believe it's already day 17! I mean, I'm sure it feels much longer to you, lol. Just be aware that it may hatch a little late due to the slightly lower temperatures.

Ugh, I'm so nervous! I want to meet this little one already, lol. I'm just scared he'll quit on me. I'm going to be triply careful about my movements and about keeping the egg vertical, pointy end down.

In case something were to happen and he were to pip internally in the wrong spot, can I like bore a tiny hole in the eggshell and help? How can I tell if baby is in distress?

Do you have a brooder ready...and a thermometer to measure the heat on the floor of the brooder??
Are you familiar with 'hatching gunk'?

If all goes well, somewhere around day 21, give or take a couple of days, it will pip out of the side around the large end of the egg. (Make sure to keep the egg large end up at this point. Honestly, you might need to move into your bathroom with the shower running non stop to keep the humidity level up. ) Once it pips, it will sit there like that with a tiny tiny little hole in the shell breathing outside air for quite a while. Its busy detaching from the shell and absorbing the last of the yolk. About 24 hours after that first pip, it should hatch.

All this being said, you might now move it to a Hatcher you can control the humidity level on, this is a very critical stage for proper humidity.

This is completely unknown territory for me but I do think sitting outside in the Caribbean will be high enough humidity for hatching. The humidity outside here in Georgia is usually higher than it is in my incubator on hatch day, lol.

I do, however I'd like to keep baby in-boob for as long as possible :D I do not know what hatching gunk is, no, but I'm guessing it's the eggshell/membrane/leftovers?

I've already got plans to keep humidity level up. I'm going to wet socks full of rice, warm them as hot as I can stand them and shove them in my boobs, not touching the egg but close enough to it. Humidity levels are around 60-70% outside already depending on the weather, although most of my days are spent at work which has AC so humidity is bound to be a little lower. I'm guessing the socks will take care of it, though.
