This poor little guy get VIOLENTLY ill in the car. He barfed 4 times in the 1.5 hour car ride yesterday and today he barfed again after 20 minutes or so. Fortunately we were almost home so he's okay now. It makes me really sad, cuz I want to take him with me everywhere, but I obviously will not be able to. I am honestly thinking of calling the owners back and asking if any of the others got car sick and maybe switching. Thats how much I want to take my baby with me. What do y'all think?? Anyone know of a way to cure car sickness?
We had a dog that didnt get sick but would howl like he was getting beat anytime you took him in the car, so needless to say he went to the vet and home, and never wanted to get in the car, whick was a good thing because no one ever wanted to take him. I think the vet can prescibe like a dramamine for dogs that travel, but I dont think I would want to have to give it everytime I took him anywhere. Maybe he will grow out of it, or ge good for 20 minutes before he gets sick. Our dogs want to go anytime the car goes and Insist on going if its the Pickup truck. Good luck.
i volunteer at our humane society taking puppies to nursing homes and i can never believe how many of them get sick in the car! i can't imagine that all those puppies end up getting car sick as adults. Your little guy is a cutie, How old is he? I would think they would outgrown it by 6 months or so.. but if you are worried about it I would call them. Better do it quick before you get too attached though!
Try taking him on very short rides, say to the end of the road, lay him on a towel and drive slow, make sure to give him some fresh air and start little by little and soon he won't get sick anymore.
LOL! I used to BE that puppy!! I gave new meaning to grape soda, still cna't drink it, haha! If I ride in the back seat I STILL get sick at 49, I never outgrew it. Not very encouraging I know, poor little guy. I vote for leaving him home and never giving him grape soda to calm his stomach, haha!! Darlene
My dad's dog would get carsick when she was a puppy, but she grew out of it. Now she goes with him on his short jaunts around town. They are regulars at the hamburger drive-thru, and she always gets a free chicken nugget!
