Hi guys my hens have been on a strike form laying eggs for about 3 weeks. Some are going through a molt but others aren't. Is there any way I can make them start laying again? Or I wonder why they stopped. I have hens in another coop that are still laying good. Its not the weather and the oldest chicken is 7 years old. Please help we have been having to buy eggs from the store.

Once you go fresh you can never go back, my girls too. We just waited it out but I hope they start soon!

Well my hens in the house that are still laying are 1 at the youngest but most are two or three. We have to different coops for them so the breeds don't get mixed up. The oldest one in our other coop just turned 7. We have two that are 7, one that is 4, most are 3, and a couple are 1 1/2. They all get the same feed.
Any differences between this group and the other one? Breeds, housing, ages, feed, etc?

What breeds are in each group? Just trying to think of what differences there might be, that would account for one flock laying and one not, if everything else is the same...
In the group that is not laying there are
1 Buff Orpington 7 years old
1 Road Island red 7 years old
1 Bard rock/Buff Orpington 4 years old
1 Leghorn 3 years old
3 Astralorps 3 and 1 years old
3 Isa Browns 3 years old
1 Easter Egger hen 1 year old
Easter egger rooster
Coop 2
2 Sebright hens and one rooster
4 old english game hens and a rooster
They are laying good.

Weird... I could see the oldest birds not laying, but you have younger ones that definitely should have started up again.
