I’ve had cocci before with chicks. Treated with corid - everyone was great.
Flock is:

2 “littles” 4 months. Barnyard mix from our hen and roo. Acting normal

1 BO who is about 5 she’s acting fine. Head hen and currently mounting everyone 🙈

3 lav orps - 2 years. Vaccinated for Mateo’s and Cocci one is acting a little weird - shocker my fave. She has been sleeping in nest boxes. No bloody stools though where she sleeps.

5 mixed breed hens 1 1/2 years old. No one is acting weird.

Normally, I advise others to get a fecal. My vet won’t do it. I’ve asked about 10 times.

Do I roll the dice and treat with corid? It seems usually with all the older girls and the only one acting weird was vaccinated for it.

Did recently worm (we had roundworms) with Valbazen. 2nd dose is tomorrow.

Thank you!

That is pretty deep red. Corid is pretty safe. I would give a 5 day treatment in their water, especially if any are lethargic, puffed up or not eating. Dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid per gallon of water. Give no vitamins or electrolytes that have B1 thiamine while on Corid. Worms can also cause bleeding and may be more common at this age.

I was hoping I’d hear from you! Thank you @Eggcessive!

Fingers crossed the deworming helps, but I’ll dose with Corid as well!

This is the second one like that so I appreciate your expertise!
