I had about 12 in one pen that were all identical. I let them out to free range each day, and did a "beak count" when I let them back in. If I was ever missing one, just in a minute a little runt would race up hollering for me not to shut the door yet! I tried to get them to sound off, and even taught them to count. They never would count out loud, but I'm sure they would when I was gone, and cackle about it...
