I sure will. I'm going to start the treatment tonight. I have the bottles all ready. I generally handle Thor after they've gone to roost at night, since he's calmer then.
The treatment involves using hibiclens (a surgical cleanser) and virkon (Wynette was kind enough to send me some virkon tablets to try).
Okay, here are the instructions for the hibiclens/virkon treatment:
put the Hibiclens in a spray bottle - spray his (clean & dry) legs with the Hibiclens, let sit on him for 10 mins. and then rinse off/air dry.
Put a Virkon tab in a spray bottle & add 16 ozs. water. The solution is only good for 10 days. After he dries off from the Hibiclens spray/rinse, spray thoroughly with the Virkon and let air dry, and leave it on (no rinsing). Spray him a couple times a day for 3 days, then do the whole thing again.
After about 10 days, you "should" be seeing results!
The Virkon tabs are used by the commercial poultry industry to eliminate MANY diseased, and the spray can also be used to disinfect coops/roosts, so if you are getting near the 10-day mark and you still have unused spray, you can always use it for that to get it gone but not wasted.
(Hope you don't mind that I cut and pasted that Wynette.)
Hibiclens you can get over the counter at any pharmacy. Wynette will have to fill you in on sources for the virkon.
Good luck to you.
