Once sweet, always sweet??

I have a Barred Rock 5 weeks old, and I'm leaning towards the decision he's a roo. I don't think we are allowed roosters in the town, so unfortunately he will have to find a new place to live. He's very sweet, always wants to be held and likes to perch on our shoulders or head. Do rooster's personalities change as they get older, or if they are sweet this young do they tend to always be sweet to those that raise them? I wish so much I could keep him but I don't think my neighbors would be happy.

A rooster's temperament often changes, once they hit puberty. All that testosterone kicks in and then they can become agressive. Not always though. Some of them do stay very nice. It's kind of a wait and see thing.

I wondered about that whole puberty thing lol. Hopefully whoever will get to keep him will be able to enjoy him as much as we have.
