So my BR's started laying last Monday 9/21 at least 1/3 of them are laying. So anyway after collecting 21 eggs since the beginning out of the nests, one had to go and lay hers in the pen in the traffic lane. Wish I knew which one it was so that she could be entered in remedial training. Luckily no one else has laid anywhere in the pen. (did a complete check) I hope I didn't just jinx myself on it, since I hear the egg song.

My girls have been laying for 6-8 weeks now and I still find eggs on the coop floor at least once a week. I think they each have a favorite nest to lay in and if it's occupied they squat on the floor!!

my two girls that are laying always lay on the floor in the back corner of the coop just next to the nesting boxes. I have to use a lacrosse stick to scoop out the eggs. I only had one girl lay in the nesting box once and then stopped.

If they aren't gonna lay in the nest I'd rather it be on the coop floor. That's so much better than outside in the travel lane.
