One broody hen others not laying eggs

I agree with @aart 100%, Great advice!

And use the same exact method/set up. With the same results... varying times for different hens. Some only 1 afternoon, others 3-5.

Usually only to have to break them once for the season.

As a rule sitting hens don't lay eggs.

i have a broody hen too.. she goes in and out of her broodiness.. i nudge her out, but she won't stay outta the coop long.. and my egg production goes down by half.. i don't see my girls laying anywhere else.. hmmm.. any tricks to stopping the broody hen?

i read thru some other threads and i think i will try dunking her belly in cold water.. i got Guardy up and out of the coop this morning..
